What is the fabric of space-time?
One of the greatest mysteries in physics, and likely philosophy; what is this fundamental energy? Can it even be defined? There are many names for it, including but not limited to; the cosmological constant, space-time, vacuum energy, zero-point energy, quantum foam, virtual particles, Dirac sea, logos, Indra's Net of Jewels, Brahman, some would even say god.
The Casimir effect is known to support the existence of the so called virtual particles, yet seems to be debatable, and hypothetical to an extent. Are there any other experiments to support the existence of this energy? Could it be that radiation pressure from the rapid virtual particle annihilation is what causes objects to move together when distance decreases between them? That means less pressure between them and more around right? Might it be this pressure is also related to the supposed cosmic expansion in intergalactic space-time?
Can this energy be willingly harnessed/utilized by us?
